Sad indeed, Robert. Don was a huge help to me in my early years of being interested in the case, and a splendid chap all round.

    RIP

Sad news. I met Don once at Wolverhampton in 2007. Very nice person.

I'm desperately sorry to hear this. Very, very sad news. If anyone didn't deserve to be struck down like he was, it was Don.

I hope Don is somewhere nice still turning chicken feathers in to chicken salad.
He was a true gentleman, always courteous, supportive regardless, and above all diplomatic..

Don wrote a novel back in late 2003, The Same, Only Different.

                    Its a murder mystery.

He was a great editor and so kind and helpful to me when I first was learning about the Whitechapel cases.

I was worried about him not being well, last time we communicated was the spring of 2016.
                      Best regards,
                      Maria

Such sad news. Don was a great guy with a great mind. I enjoyed the time I was able to spend working with him.

I was saddened and somewhat shocked to hear about this, although I knew Don's health had been poor for some time now. I can only echo the sentiments already expressed here and say that Don was always very kind and encouraging towards me. He urged me to get writing again once he began editing Casebook Examiner, which i'm glad I did. Didn't deserve to suffer as he did.

                          Cheers,
                          Adam.
