I wonder what they died of. They apparently had plenty of water and they shouldn't have died of starvation in a couple weeks. Maybe some of the apex predators in the area, named in the article as polar bears (!?!), wolves and other bears, had them for dinner. (I'll contribute for a veterinary with a stomach pump in case any of these poor creatures ate the suspects.)
