I have ordered this, as it is a book I have been eagerly waiting to see the light of day.

    Looks superb. Over 600 pages!
I know this will be value for money.

More to the point, more than 600 margins! Swanson would have had a field-day

I'm sure it's a great book. But I hear that Swanson's death is mentioned only very briefly, on the endpaper.

You could always attempt to borrow Scott's attempted blagged freebie copy...

Yeah, but there are details elsewhere in the book. You just have to read between the lines.

anyone received their copy yet? or am I jumping the gun?

not really sure what my rush is, as I started a book on the english civil war over a week and a half ago, and I've miles to go!

Adam received an early batch of books to accompany his talk last weekend and more copies will be delivered soon. It's a huge book - about 750 pages - and very detailed. As far as I am cocerned, it exceeded all my expectations and sets the benchmark for police biographies.

I can't wait. Hence the (excessive?) enthusiasm!

I received my copy the other day, and - whilst I've only just started reading it - I can tell that it promises to be the most informative and thoroughly-researched biography in the field since Helena Wojtczak's on Kłosowski.

                          Well done, Adam.

Thanks, pardner ! That's good turf ( Klosowski's book) to be in.

The more time goes on, the less I understand the workings of the modern Internet, but when I looked on Amazon the only option it offered me was Kindle, and it offered it to me free if I had a trial of "Kindle Unlimited". So there it is for free. I have been expecting to buy a copy, of course, but apparently the free Kindle is the way to read it now.
