As some of you on Facebook may have noticed, earlier this week was the launch of the H Division Crime Club UK.

This exciting venture is a sister organisation to the UK Jack the Ripper Conference but will focus on other crimes not just the Ripper case.
At the moment we just have a Facebook group available at https://www.facebook.com/groups/318844814968383/ with a website coming very soon. The initial plan is 3 or 4 weekend meet ups a year around the UK, including a Christmas meet up that will include a formal black tie dinner and crime speaker.
The idea of H Division dates back to the 2012 Oxford social meet up organised by Trevor Bond where we first discussed running a true crime club. Earlier this year these plans were discussed again, with serious discussion beginning around July. I came on board at the start of October and the organising team have since been joined by Jonathan Menges.
"We are proud to announce the launch of H Division Crime Club UK, founded in 2014 by members of the Jack the Ripper Conference organising committee alongside other experts in the field of international true crime. H Division will be a unique social and research opportunity, offering alternating London/ UK regional meet-ups and an active social media presence. Open to all, we aim to promote the in-depth, compassionate and critical study of UK and international true crime, with regular nods to our spiritual home of London's East End and the most notorious case in the history of true crime - the 'Jack the Ripper' murders of 1888. So welcome, and we hope to hear from you soon!"
