The Jack the Ripper Conference - Whitechapel London
          September 28th - 30th 2018

We are pleased to announce that one of our main Conference speakers Prof David Wilson will be attempting to solve the world’s most infamous murder mystery in a special 1 hour documentary, commisioned by the BBC.

The programme, also starring Emilia Fox, will see Professor Wilson, Emeritus Professor of Criminology, apply the latest police cold case techniques to the murders, using original crime scene photographs and a virtual reality dissection table.

With the case still unsolved over 130 years later, they hope they will get closer than anyone has before to answering vital questions such as who Jack the Ripper really was and whether he committed more murders than we think.

The documetary has already been discussed with the conference organisers and hopes are it will be released in time for the September event.

The superb line up for the main Ripperology event of 2018. Just reading through the speakers list has once again reminded me how much the bar has been raised for these events since they first started in 2012. The delegates are in for a right treat to mark the 130th anniversary in style.

I hope all who are in attendance in London tonight are having a great experience and are happily sharing in each other's company. It's a super feeling when all the planning is put behind you and the moment arrives to just have a good time.

Mr. Fido is there along with Mark Vogel, author of The Ripper's Time.

Decent crowd.....pretty evenly divided between men and women.

Wow, what a weekend. 140 delegates this time, which has shown we have now out grown our usual London Venue. May have to seek bigger boat for 2019.

I was particularly impressed at the amount of writers and self publishers we had in attendance and have had some superb ideas for books for the future.

As always with these events it shows interest in Ripperology continues to run and it was a real delight to meet awesome researchers and enthusiasts and some potentially future big names in the field of ripper studies. This shows we are all moving in the right direction and singing from the same song sheet. There will always be a small minority of moaners with anything we do but as pointed out by one Professor in attendance, they are become less and less relevant in the field. Lets hope so.

Many thanks to all the speakers and delegates who made the weekend what it was.

                            Roll on 2019

                              Great Conference!

I just want to say on behalf of my partner and researcher, Christine, that we had an absolutely terrific time at the Conference organised by Ricky Cobb.

A big thank-you to Ricky, Becky and Colin Cobb who looked after us all with efficiency and affability, and all the speakers were treated with politeness and fairness.

It was such a thrill to meet accomplished writer-researchers of the calibre of Keith Skinner and Dr Martin Fido, who was in fine form as the closing speaker.

Those few, who were interested, were shown the new material that has been found supporting the Druitt Solution (nothing found by me, I hasten to add) and were suitably impressed.

Look forward to the next Conference!

Many thanks JJ . It was a real pleasure for us to have you present your work to the delegates of the 2018 JTR conference and to meet Christine and yourself for the first time. We were all very impressed with your work.

Infact im so impressed with the line up this year im still buzzing with joy. Having all the big guns of ripperology under one roof leaves no doubt where the field is heading and were the interest lies, with not only the conference but with the H Division Crime Club as a whole.

We’d love to see you back again soon and we will be planning something real special for 2019.

P.s thanks to you and Christine for your gifts and very pleasant card to myself when you were leaving. I look forward to reading them.
