    Yes, but Kelly was obviously propositioning him in a shorthanded way (can you lend me sixpence). Hutch would have got a roof over his head and a fire thrown in. Judging by his actions that night, he obviously had no money, which is what he tells us.

      How did he hope to get into the Victoria Home, then, if he was totally skint? The reason he gave for not doing so, don't forget, was because it was closed, not because he hadn't the money to pay for a bed.

        There were lots of other places (inc 13 Millers Court) he could have stayed, if he had money on him.

          It's in one of Hutchinson's statements, police or press.. I don't remember off hand. "The place where I usually stay was closed".

            Got it, thanks .. it was press.


            I also noticed that in his interview that he was now working as a labourer, so not unemployed at the time, as previously suggested in this thread.
