  • Another Violent........Hairdresser

What was it with hairdressers back then ?

On the day that Charles Ludwig ( also a hairdresser ) was brought before the Thames Police Court, this fellow had to face the music about a July stabbing.

      Lest We Forget...............

Theophil Mary, Aaron Kosminski, and George Chapman, at one point in time, had been hairdressers. All three received consideration as being the Whitechapel Murderer.

I know there have been other violent hairdressers that I've read about in the LVP press....who woulda thunk it ?

At one firm I worked at there was a messenger who had worked as a hairdresser in some kind of Jewish club in Aldgate. He was a miserable old git, well into his seventies, with a magnificent head of snow-white hair.

The way to wind him up was to be as pleasant as possible.

You'd say, 'Hello, Mr Solomons, how are you this fine morning?'

          And he'd reply, 'F**** orf!'

The day before he died, Monty went to a hairdresser and asked for the wet look.

Lechmere asked for a 'carman', but the hairdresser thought he'd said 'carmen' and stuck a bunch of grapes and a banana on his head.

Going to the barber when I was a kid was always a drag...my Mom forever telling me to beehive myself.

I sure did Gary.....had one when I was 18 working on an Army base in Texas as a custodian/janitor..... .

I was the top mop with the mop top.

The depiction looks a little like me back then too. Fact is, is that it looks a lot like I did !

Joe Barnett made the mistake of getting his hair cut at Billingsgate and ended up with a mullet.

This guy is very interesting. Not a hairdresser, but an artist's model described as a 'swarthy Italian with a profusion of black curly hair'.

OB Online gives his name as Jack Assed, but it was Jack/Giuseppi Asseo.
