    This was one of the first serial killer books I read, back in the mid 70's I think.
    I was on holiday, with the in-laws, at Scarborough, Yorkshire :-)

      50 years ago - 1967 July 9 - East Michigan University student Mary Fleszar is strangled by serial killer John Norman Collins, a.k.a. the Ypsilanti Ripper. She was an early victim of an assumed tally of eight. Her body was found about a month later. Collins went to prison for life after being captured in 1969 and he still resides there.

          Although he would have been quite young, Collins even gets mentioned as possibly being the Boston Strangler by a few of those who don't think DeSalvo was responsible for all (or any) of those murders.
