The murder of Annie Moore occurred 15 years after the Carrie Brown murder.

Like that murder, it was unsolved....and fortunately in the Moore case, the prime suspect was released. I think the reason, or one of the reasons, the case didn't make waves nearly as big as the Brown murder did was that the police had someone very shortly after the Moore murder in custody.

One other reason...and I think the biggest one....was that there wasn't the challenge that the Brown murder provided to the NYPD & Inspector Byrnes ( not on the force in 1907) coming shortly after the Coles murder in February 1891.

The Moore murder was just one of the handful of unsolved and very brutal murders in NYC from 1891-1910/
