The thing about the book was, I found the parts about the White City and particularly the Ferris Wheel to be fascinating, while I found the bits about Mudgett to be kind of boring and distracting.

Same here, my brother from another mother. I felt that way ( Nina did too) as soon as I finished Larson's book.
