Since I have been writing a historical novel based on the case, you have been of much help. Without you, I would not have known of the cases that you posted about on the front page of the March, 8,1909. Nor would I have known about the April, 22 1911, Bristol case.
The Bristol case was the one of immediate interest here. I don't know if you remember that case, but you posted it on a different thread. The article mentioned a white family who were attacked in their home and had their throats slit. In this article, it mentions a black man who has attacked black women and white men. Perhaps the Atlanta Ripper was the author of all these crimes. You might think that theory far fetched, given the distance between Atlanta, Bristol, and Augusta but it would be remarkably coincidental for there to be three black serial killers, operating at the same time and with similar modus operandi and yet of time frames contradict each other. One must be left to wonder.
Please do post if you ever find out if the August cutthroat was brought to justice.
If you can, please post an article about the earlier murder listed.
There are more articles that I want to post but I don't know how to post their pics on the thread.Comment

One of the contentions, as you know Jon, is that there was no serial killer loose in Atlanta...and that the murders were simply regular fare for the Fourth Ward ( Atlanta's Whitechapel...which I intend to cover one day ).
If I get some time, I will go back to the papers....Comment

I just realized I had access to the Atlanta Constitution newspaper...that should be of use to both of us, buddy....Comment

It has its merits in that it was the first to go in depth about the ripper, but the historical research that was done was faulty. Important information, like what you have posted here , is missing. For example, the two earlier cases you posted in 1909 which earned the first page of the Georgian. The Georgian also mentions suspects arrested in those case, included a pedophile, but that was not mentioned in the book. You posted cases that should have been in the book, like one in which a black man shot another one because he thought he was the ripper an another where a woman had called the police because a drunken man had broken into her house and she thought he was the ripper. Both should have been mentioned to show the impact that the ripper had.Comment
