1945! Damn the ripper's killing spree lasted that long?
Nah, I am just joking with ya. You meant to say 1914
Too bad the Atlanta Police did not use fingerprinting until 1918, when the ripper was winding down his killing spree.Comment

Many American police departments were slow in adapting them, despite the fact that fingerprinting was used in criminal cases in Argentina since 1891. The police were still using Bertillions measurements even though they were useless in crime scene investigations and only 2/3 good when it came to criminal identification.
The ripper left finger prints in at least one of his crimes, that of Mary Putnam(who had her heart pulled out in Nov, 1911) but the police did not bag it as evidence just like they ignored the fingerprints in the Phagan case.Comment

Another problem for the APD was the small detective force. They had 15 detectives of the force. Some serial killer task forces had more detectives than that, for example, the Yorkshire Ripper task force had 120 detectives. The Atlanta Child Murders Task Force had 106 detectives, including at least 33 feds.
The APD should have requested aid from outside police but they refused all outside aid.Comment

Mary Yeldell
file:///C:/Users/emperor%20john/Downloads/Mary%20Yeldell.pdf
There are two versions of this story. This one has him demanding that she take her clothes off. The other version has him saying nothing, but coming to Yeldell quickly and quietly.
The latter story makes more sense.Attached FilesComment
