    Andrew:
I think the animal is too young to qualify for the Axeman, isn't he ?
The New Orleans murders occurred during the 'teens. He was unfortunately hatched in 1901.

He would of been 17 for the first Murder. Just found it interesting he was in Louisiana at that time.

Dahmer committed his first murder at 18.

He can't be completely ruled out but I believe all the Axeman sightings claimed the guy was white-unless I missed some.

I had never heard of this guy though he ended his days--before I was born-- in the Walla Walla, WA penitentiary which is close to my general location. This guy proves that Ted Bundy didn't invent serial killing in the northwest. I found mention of Jake Bird while reading family anecdotes about various axe murders across the U.S. Bird would have been too young to have committed the crimes circa 1911-1912. Maybe more research will show there were a number of travelling axemen using the railroad as a means of escape.
