    A great example of the far reaching impact the murders had on British women.
    You'll recall the smug comments made by Sir Robert Anderson that no one other than a certain class of woman had anything to fear during this period of time.

    Not only is it the first time I've ever read a report of a woman actually using a whistle to capture a cop's attention.....but it isn't even in Whitechapel....its in Portsmouth, 70 miles to the southwest of London.

    Allowing the man to walk on the charge of assault ( no time given probably due to her being 'single' and out and about at midnight...hint) with a knife ( How would she know of it unless he displayed it ?)......all we can do is shake our heads at the stupidity of the court.
