I wonder what old Sudden Death was playing at. There is an excellent exchange in the Grant Richard's archives between Richards and Stephenson, with Stephenson making several threats towards Richards, and Richards putting him firmly in his place. I had access to the files last year and transcribed the entire collection of correspondence and financial transactions between the two.
