I'm not very knowledgeable about Druitt but I came across this tiny bit and cannot recall seeing it before. Apologies if it's old news:

These days of course "drop in" wickets are the go to, but that wouldn't have been the case in Druitt's time. Maintaining the wicket really would've been a full time job.
