In Balfour's book, from the bottom of page 10 to the top of page 12, he talks about Frank Froest.

Froest brought Balfour back to England as his prisoner. It's been a long time since I read about that story, but I recall that some historians considered the capture have been more of a kidnapping than a legal arrest. I think Balfour was snatched away while the Argentine courts fought over the extradition issues.

In 1888, Froest's name appeared in the indictment document against Francis Tumblety, and it appears that he was involved in Tumblety's arrest in November 1888.

Froest ended up becoming the head of the CID, and he wrote some really good crime novels after he retired.
