  • Paul Begg : Works

One of the cornerstones of Modern Ripperology, Mr. Begg's influence may be found and felt in every aspect of modern studies.

He's also the author of this work regarding the Mary Celeste

Mr. Begg is a collaborator on the Definitive History documentary and recent JTR CSI Whitechapel

Hi Howard. My copies of Definitive History and Mary Celeste have very different covers than shown here. Much better covers, in fact. I've never seen these before.

    Yours truly,

    Tom Wescott

P.S. It's a shame that Begg's once-announced work on King Arthur was never published. I have a mild interest in that story (I'm reading Discovery of King Arthur by Geoffrey Ashe right now).

        Hi Tom, Howard, et al.

I think the different covers might be a function of the covers used by the British versus the American publishers.

        Best regards

That blog itself disappeared into thin air.

It's probably been done somewhere on the forum but a thread dedicated to must have books for novice ripperologists might be handy. Perhaps a top 5 or 10?

I added the image of Into Thin Air, etc. to the others. It's on Amazon.

The blog in question is still viable and has itself not disappeared into thin air.

                    Paul Begg- Gentleman

I do hope I don't embarrass him but I met him for the first time at the very first JTR conference. I must admit being slightly in awe of him as I was well aware of his works owning several of his books myself.

When I mentioned I was toying with the idea of writing a book myself, I was really taken aback when he encouraged me to do so. I was half expecting some comment about how hard it is, and to leave it to the experts etc. You must understand at that stage I didn't know him and what a very nice chap he really was.

So I took his advice and wrote one, and have never looked back.

Since that day I have met him on several occasions and have discovered what a truly great guy he is - a real gentleman both in his personal life and the world of Ripperology.

I place on record my unstinting admiration for Paul and wish him the very best and every success in the future.
