Sue mentioned in her opening editorial that the lockdown may have enabled some members to pick up a pen in their home and write an article for the journal. This current issue is longer than the usual ones, and there was a healthy sample of contributions. I guess that is one good thing that has come out of this lockdown.

It was really good to read Don Rumbelow's article. He may have put us into the mind of PC Harvey as he walked into Church Passage in 1888. Nothing beats hearing from a man who has personal experience in a topic that you are studying. And Don certainly has the experience.

I look forward to reading the rest of the journal this week. (This is the Oct 2020 issue even though this Jtrforums thread is entitled Aug 2020.)

Louise Grace wrote a short but interesting article in this Oct 2020 issue entitled Discovery V Ethics. It was about how Dr. Wynne Weston-Davies applied to have the grave of Mary Jane Kelly exhumed (through legal means, of course.) He claimed that MJK was his great aunt. The objective was to have her remains tested for DNA.

The Cemetery Authorities turned down the request. Louise then asked her readers should the departed be disturbed for such DNA testing?
