Interestingly, the Times reports today that Rubenhold has accused Channel 5 of stealing her ideas in this documentary. It seems she was originally going to be one of the "on-screen experts", but left the project shortly before filming began. She says this was because she had been assured the programmes would be "victim-centric", but it became clear they would be "murder-centric".

Rubenhold reportedly complains this is the third time she has had her "intellectual property" stolen, and is quoted as having "tweeted":
“TV really needs to get its act together. Just because something is non-fiction doesn’t mean it’s in the public domain.”

I'm sure many people here will applaud her stated sentiments about people's research being used "without credit or remuneration", as she puts it.

Channel 5 used all of Hallie’s original research without paying her for it?

      Outrageous!!!

They must owe her at least 50p.
