      The Pugilism case is very interesting. Thick(e) again putting in a good word for individuals who had technically broken the law. Only this time, the magistrate backs him up!

      So on the one hand we have another grain of sand against Thick, but we also have some idea of how society viewed unlicensed boxing matches. Technically a breach of the peace, but hardly a hanging offence.

        Edmund Reid can lay claim to arresting a man later named as the 'Ripper' before his career began, he was even promoted for the arrest.
