I'd say keep it.
I don't think it looks cluttered at all. Displaying the subforums on the first page is in my opinion and excellent idea, and gives a good overview.
Just my opinion. -
I still reckon a horde of Radioactive Mutant Flesh Eating Maggots should be let loose to excise a lot of the dead tissue.
