What do the two attorneys, William S. Lawton and George Kebble have in common beside being in the legal profession ?

                Comment

                • The answer is........

Both defended men ( both losing their cases ) who they would go on to claim was Jack The Ripper.

Kebble defended William Grant Grainger in 1895....and Lawton defended Carl Feigenbaum in 1896.

Feigenbaum got the hot seat...and Grainger was released years after his vicious assault on Alice Graham.

Lawton committed suicide on a park bench for unrelated reasons.

This trivia ought to be interesting.....

Name three people who wrote hoax Ripper letters and were nabbed.

                    • Well there was Maria Coroner, Miriam Howells, Charlotte Higgins....and the one called Kirkegaard who just sat there biting the heads off whippets.

                      • Very good, Master Linford. You could have mentioned one of the Tunbridge Wells youths who penned the 'Another Whitechapel Murder' letter to the Tunbridge Wells Advertiser.....you're at the head of the class.

                        Now try this one :

Name three books which are supposedly diaries written by the Ripper.

You'll get a kupla pounds of scrapple if you succeed.

                        • Well there's Maybrick. I'm claiming the Diary of a Nobody because Cornwell reckoned Sickert was Nemo. Also the Diary of a Madman because many thought the ripper mad.

                          Got me stumped here.
