  • Jack The Ripper Roberts

Apparently, The University of Georgia Bulldog football team had a pretty decent running back by the nickname of "Jack The Ripper" Roberts.

This was found in the Evening Independent ( St.Petersburg ,Florida ) Nov. 5th, 1930....and the other in a campus weekly published by Georgia Tech in the same year, one month later ( 79 years ago tomorrow...) on Dec. 5th, 1930.

        Paul:
I believe it was an 'arfa kidney'...good eye, buddy.
Roberts steamrolled through offensive lines like they weren't there. He made two post-season All American teams

I must confess to being a Cleveland Browns fan - they could do with a guy like that!

I like how the game was described...."a 26-0 homicide".
