Yes and checking a whole year by name and address is very difficult - so I just scanned the names.

I’ve got copies of a month’s female admissions - Aug/Sept, 1888. Minors are included alongside the adults but there is no mention of their parents.

There was a Maria Harvey with a son named John who at one time lived in Station Place. I’m curious as to whether she was MJK’s pal of the same name.

If you don't mind saying, Gary--or anyone else who has used these records--about how many pages would this be-- female admissions, Aug/Sep 1888?

I'm trying to get an idea of the scope of the collection. For instance, if one wanted to find the name of a female patient admitted around March 10 - March 15 1889, would it be a matter of dozens of pages to look through, or far less? How many people were admitted on any given day?

I know someone who wants to take a gander at the records, but I don't know how big of a wild goose chase it might turn out to be.

This might give you some idea R.J. This is Ada Wilson's entry and the page covers a week from 23 March to 30 March 1888. Let the person you know who wants to look at the records that there are two sections. One for 'Surgeons' Female Patients' and one for 'Physicians' Female Patients' both are in the same book from what I remember.

The opposite page is for Age and Discharge details.

            Hi All,

Any sign yet of Annie Chapman, who allegedly was in St. Barts in late August/early September 1888?

For some reason I can’t access the images I was sent as email attachments. There were about 20 of them I think. I was looking for the victim of the blind laces seller who was said to have been initially treated by a police surgeon and then taken to the London Hospital, presumably in the afternoon of the 8th September, 1888.

I drew a blank, but the Caroline Coals who was living in what I now suspect was a brothel in Pennington Street and who had an ‘incised wound’ (slash) to her cheek still intrigues me. Aged 24 and based in the Highway she would have been a different kind of ‘unfortunate’ from most of the WM victims.

I wonder if her attack led to the arrest of her attacker. If so, there may be a record of it in the Thames Police Court records.
