    From Murderpedia:
    William Mentzer-
Killer jailed for murder of impresario Roy Radin, who was suspected of being the head of the Son of Sam cult. Mentzer was an associate of Charles Manson and also implicated in the killing of Arliss Perry, a devout Christian slain in North Dakota.
Source: The Giant Book of Conspiracies by Jonathan Vankin and John Whelan

Arliss Perry's murder has been solved. She neither was murdered by Mentzer nor was she murdered in South Dakota. She was murdered on Stanford( Cal.) University's campus by a university employee who committed suicide when the cops came to his house decades later. That's at the end of the 4th segment of the SOS series.

I’ll just keep posting any updates. Ed Opperman on the Opperman Report covers this very well.

I challenge anyone to listen to witness Brian McCracken on Opperman and then come back and say Arliss Perry was not a occult killing.

Here is a recent rebuttal of Maury Terry's latest detractors. I cannot quote any part of it without permission. But the blogger goes into details about the hierarchy including the high command, and the participants who carried out the orders, and the rationale.

The above summation of the case investigation was evidently necessitated and warranted because of the recent attempts to deconstruct The Ultimate Evil with debunking that ignores the last 35 years of research, most of it freely available online. As Ed Opperman said, "I don't know why they're doing this at this stage." But it brings out pages like this that set out the case.

The consensus of the summation is that the idea to commit a set of crimes that ultimately turned into the SoS serial murders, were initiated by four Londoners, the senior members of the inner circle and presumably original members of the Process Church who rose to the ultimate authority by 1976.

"Another similarity is in the Brown murder, the police gave up looking for the blonde C.Kniclo....in the SOS, the police, reportedly, did look into cult activity but dismissed it although the evidence does seem to favor the occult as a motive, not necessarily the only motive." HB

The Processians who allegedly associated with Berkowitz and "the Children" were the ones who stayed, post-1974 schism, with Mary Ann Moore, the "Jehovian" law and order type who tried re-branding and returning to Christian roots even to the point of denouncing Satanism. That not only failed but may have led to an entrenchment among those who resisted going mainstream. This might explain the motive for some of the top London luminaries deciding to try going violent against the establishment.

But as you also said, there could be other motives. The link in Post 63 suggest several, including practical ones related to their drug dealing, human trafficking, pornography, human sacrifice and other criminal activities. This brings us back to the reality of the Church's financial difficulties post Tate-La Bianca murders.

It was mainly because of the Process Church's alleged links to Manson Family that it lost its popularity and fell into financial difficulties by the 1970s. It lost members and could no longer attract "star" recruits or hang out with the rich and famous like before. That forced the Processians to venture more into organized crime.

"In the Brown case, the shadow of the Whitechapel Murders was present, although it's very unlikely it was committed by the Ripper. In the SOS case, the cult angle and a possible link to other crimes of an occult bent were suggested." HB

The Ripper still casts his shadow over the Carrie Brown Murder, as Manson does over SoS. Even if Manson is obviously not a Son of Sam, he did play a part in what happened to the Process Church from their downfall and resultant deep descent into organized crime to inspiring the nickname of one of the alleged shooters to perhaps even inspiring the nickname Son of Sam.

Very disturbing article, buddy...thanks for posting it.
One of Mayor Abe Beame's (NYC Mayor during the S.O.S. murders) staff had a relative in with these creeps, I see.

That's about as far up and as close as the luminaries (in attendance at the inauspicious, alleged meeting) and their degrees of separation go. No police officers mentioned, not even a beat cop. One person in banking and one son of a businessman/promoter. That's it for the grand "Chingon" conspiracy.

So, assuming this is correct based on the preponderance of inside information from Berkowitz and other informants and witnesses, would these possibly embarrassing connections be a motive to warrant the degree of pushback against Maury Terry and the widely accepted conspiracy theory as it stands?

So much for my "defenders of the realm" theory regarding the pushback. I'm beginning to think there's another motive, more philosophical. On a Socratic level.

I was somewhat premature. There was also the grandson of a Royal Surgeon to two kings. He was one of the two Processians who met Charles Manson in prison for a magazine article.

The above-mentioned Process leader testified as a plaintiff in the 1974 failed lawsuit against the author and publisher of The Family which made a link between Manson and the Process. I find it ironic considering what is alleged to have happened 2 years later with The Children cult supposedly following their orders to commit SoS.

The takeaway I get from reading the court testimony is that the Church was almost exclusively comprised of what they call Jehovians and Luciferians. An insider testified to not having met or remembering meeting a Satanist, which is the label for those who tend to prefer chaos or anarchy, violence, etc.

Depeyer may have had a dog named Satan but really only Victor Wild I believe was mentioned as a Satanist in the transcript and he was forced to leave the Church. Wild was their main link to Manson whom they also referred to as Satanistic.

So how did the Church become a part of Satanism and the Ultimate Evil? The Schism? Downturn after Manson? Pre-existing Satanism in Untermeyer Park?

So I think one reason so-called Ultimate Evil of the Son of Sam may have happened in New York rather than elsewhere (ie California and Manson etc) was because of the “Satanistic” grooming already going on for years there, especially in Untermeyer. You can add to that the schism and the downturn in the Process Church after Manson that made them desperate for any recruits they could find and to make money any way they could.

The schism also made the psychological process that the church was named for, and which was supposed to help people with their “extreme” psychological problems, harder if not impossible to conduct.

I have to admit now that Maury Terry was roping in all the suspects and putting them all under the banner of Satanic conspiracy, when obvious distinctions need to be made to find and point out the right guilty parties, rather then assessing guilty by association. True crime should stick to legal definitions of guilt and responsibility not social, cultural or religious. There were nuances missed.

The Process, by their definition and by the testimony of an insider, did not actually include or attract any "Satanists" to his knowledge up the late 60s at least. They were in their heyday and were attracting the rich and wealthy and popular so I guess they didn't want to ruin a "good thing" by being overly inclusive, even if their faith openly promoted it.

To them, Satanism is not a practice or an activity. It's a personality type or a profile, one of four main ones that they have. Satan means adversary or opponent, the opposite of Jehovah. So Satanism is a label here used for opponents of law and order etc. The real proverbial, by their own definition, "Satanists" came in after the Manson link and the downturn in the church and right at the time of the schism. Bad timing all around. You see what I mean?
