    I'm not sure about 1888 - perhaps someone else knows - but in the recent discussion about Druitt's cricket match we used the August 1887 Bradshaw's railway guide, which is available here:

      You could try emailing the Railway museum at York, they may well be able to help.

          ​​​​​​ ha yes. Well it would be if I could make head nor tail of that bleedin bradshaws! I assume a hard copy would be a lot easier to use than a pdf! I haven't had a proper look yet to be honest.

          Just curious. Would like to eliminate the possibility that Bury's little post Christmas vanishing act had nothing to do with a trip to a place very close to where he had spent time living rough. Was just wondering if it was possible to make that journey, probably on boxing Day if James Martin got his dates right.
