Rosenwald - murder victim in Paris, 1891

I posted this before in the newspaper section, but couldn't locate it when trying to find it with search terms. This seems like a better place for it.

Like most other possible victims suggested, this was probably not the work of the Whitechapel Murderer. But someday, someone might do a more systematic search of some of these cases, so Rosenwald's 1891 murder probably belongs on that list.

Sounds familiar. I have a feeling Patricia Cornwell may have briefly mentioned it in her book, accusing Sickert of it of course. It's always possible she was a Ripper victim, but any murders outside of the London area are hard to link strongly.
Something else which may interest you is that there was a man named Joseph Vacher who would become known as the French Ripper, as he murdered and mutilated at least 11 people in France between 1894 and 1897; it's conceivable he could have started earlier, and the description of the 1891 case seems at least somewhat similar to his MO.
