              • On the same day that one Vigilance Committee ( Whitechapel) celebrated its first year anniversary, this report appeared regarding the Pinchin Street Torso.

                • Same paper,same day.

This has no bearing on the WM...but notice how quickly the mention of reward was made.

Might not the same fate of bodily disarticulation happened to this Lewis woman as with the Pinchin Street Torso, with a little more time or a sense of need? Or do you see the PST as a possible Ripper victim ?

This being 1889 the talk of a reward was probably because of all the discussion of giving a reward for the Whitechapel murderer in 1888.

                      That may well be true,sir.
My surprise was at how quickly the concept came up.

                        • Another report on the PST
The police apparently considered the remains as being left by someone other than the Ripper.

                            • In the previous post found in Freeman's...mention is made of Cumberland being credited with stating two weeks prior to the discovery of the PST, a body would be found.
Actually, the newspapers said that. Whether Cumberland did predict a body being found on September 8-10, I don't know.
I do know that he claimed one would be found after an August murder, as seen here :

                              • Cumberland published a periodical known as the Mirror.
