Nine years after the skein of 1888....husbands,boyfriends,and other idiots were still making threats to their better halves about "Jack The Ripper-ing" them.

Men. Can't live with 'em, can't live with 'em.

Derby Mercury Wednesday, September 29, 1897

Within the two primary newspaper sources I usually use...within the British Isles, there were 3,044 articles which appear when the word "ripper" was installed in the cache...and 2,444 in the United States...although in the case of the Isles, many were not relative to the Ripper. Many American papers simply contained rudimentary facts and often misinterpretations of facts as well as embellishments of the individual murders when they occurred...but quite a few American papers featured Ripper related articles on their front pages and in fact,

American papers would start featuring as many articles on the Ripper at the end of the 1890's as did the Isles. I didn't factor in Oceania or Canada in the U.K. figures.

That all British Isles newspapers haven't been digitized and I've avoided as best as I can to replicate articles found on Casebook or elsewhere is another factor. Certainly more articles on the Ripper and the Case appeared in Britain, but American papers had quite a catalog of articles, some of which didn't appear in the U.K.
