Who among all the names ever presented as suspects in the Case...had experience in "rescue" work and was a surgeon ?

Has anyone ever attempted to put as name to this character....or do you feel this is a red herring...essentially a story elicited to the vicar with no basis in fact ?

We've had this story on the boards before...and as usual, I neglected to ask these questions at that time.

                    Neems:

Correctamundo. Barnardo died in 1905 and that's why I asked.
He's the only one I could think of with a background in rescue work who had the title of Doctor.
