Here are guidelines for using the test in the state of Oregon. I think similar criteria apply across the country and possibly globally. In response to an earlier inquiry I don't think cost is much of a consideration. I clipped an Oregon article because we do not yet have the virus in Idaho, at least that we know. Plus I cross the border to Oregon for certain activities.

IMO, Oregon has some very dangerous situations that could lead to a poorly controlled outbreak. For one thing, entry level and less educated workers need not apply for many jobs which are contracted out to foreign "crews". Lots of these contracted "crews" are probably already here. There are financial breaks, I am told, in not hiring citizens. Even a lot of construction jobs are now contracted to these "crews". Meanwhile, here in Idaho anyone can have these jobs. We have lots of Hispanic people but citizens are also hired. It is amazing how different two states can be.

      Coronavurus

      Good morning all,

As many will be aware, the Coronavirus is being treated by the WHO as a pandemic, a, World wide infectious virus.
Although in some media quarters, the "fear factor" has been overplayed, there are certain things that are an underlying cause for serious concern.
Based on hitherto known facts, people over 60 years of age, and those with serious illness are most likely affected.
Given that, I'd like to inform you that the above two catagories, according to my specialist kidney doctor, and I quote him, apply to me.

Quote "Being 61, and having Chronic Kidney disease puts you very much in the "at risk" zone. The Coronavirus not only attacks the lungs, but also the kidneys.
Those suffering from lung illnesses, and kidney illnesses, where either or both pairs of organs are weakened considerably by such illnesses, must be extra vigilant.
I do not recommend you travelling on buses or trains, and for the time being, try to shop in Supermarkets very early in the morning to avoid crowds. Wear your gloves when out, and always have a spare pair at home, in order for the first pair to be washed when you come in."

What that means, in actual fact, is that whilst there are an enormous amount of people who either knowingly, or unknowingly carry such illnesses such as CKD around with them, and are at risk of infection like all others, any of those people being infected can cause, serious harm.

37 million people living in the USA alone have CKD.

That's how serious this Coronavirus is. Nobody talks about it because the consequences are potentially frightening. But those are the figures.

So whilst a lot of media, are without doubt over hyping the dangers, there is a real hidden danger that none speak of.

      Stay well out there everyone.

Yes, all those on these boards who are in the special danger category should take special care. There's nothing wrong with my kidneys as far as I know but my lungs are only fit to go into How's scrapple.

Not too bad at the supermarket. Came back with plenty of Whiskas for Monty and vanilla vodka for yours truly. Gin for Mr Brown, but none of his usual tonic water, so he'll have to make do with the one 'with a twist of lime'.

Unsurprisingly, the anti-bacterial kitchen wipe shelves were completely bare, for what good they are at killing a virus! And there was very little dried pasta to be had. We bought the last pack of linguine, but only because it was already on my list. Didn't think to check the bog roll aisle as we don't need any this week.

          Love,

          Caz

Iíve stocked up a bit on dried goods.

So far the only thing thatís hard to find is hand sanitiser, but I found a recipe online for that:

            Vodka
            Aloe vera gel
            Lavender/tea tree essential oil.

Anna mentioned cleaning taps. In my house I have fitted lever taps throughout that can be turned on and off with a wrist or an elbow.

Remember that bleach (i.e. Clorox), sodium hyperchlorite, KILLS EVERYTHING. Veterinaries use a lot of it. In the animal world there are still viral diseases as deadly as the Black Death, such as parvo in dogs and panleukopenia in cats.

This clip from a Bend, Oregon source says a lot and is what I have suggested previously. Bend is kind of in the middle of the state but ultimately more toward the western side. It is a very populous area.

If you look on a map. you can see the eastern side of Oregon is sparsely populated. The major towns other than Ontario are under 20,000 population. It is wheat farming and ranching area with high desert and mountains. That a serious case happened in this sparsely populated area, Weston, Oregon, is frightening. True, the patient worked at a casino which draws people from all over, maybe even international visitors. On the other hand this man did not work directly with the public according to reports. And he attended a school basketball tournament probably while infected but asymptomatic.

I have an idea the virus is very much in the population. My angst is largely because the chronic migraine I have has been fairly constant for several months and some of my business affairs are disordered. Plus, our LLC is in the midst of a nasty eviction process with renters showing criminal tendencies. If some of us drop dead I suppose these people could become squatters. It would not be a good time to drop dead though frequently I don't worry too much about that possibility since the genetic migraine cannot be cured, prevented or ameliorated. Because I was middle age when I first got the headaches and the many years I have had them, it is unlikely they will ever stop.

I'm deeply concerned about our MPs and therefore I think Parliament should close. There'd be no hurry to re-open it - I wouldn't mind if it stayed closed for five, ten, fifty years.
