One feature related to the Ripper and these ads & which may be unique in the history of advertising is that one would be very hard pressed to find any advertisement over the past 200 some years in which a murderer was used to sell goods....without concrete evidence that that murderer was dead, apprehended, or even institutionalized. I think they are unique.
