Luke sticks it to George Damon in the Tom Sumner Program....mentioning a fact that I didn't know in that the Governor of New Jersey ( who I am pretty sure was Foster Voorhees, who represented the county Damon lived in) had contacted Gov. Odell of New York and vouched for Damon as being a goodfella. Damon apparently was a friend of New Jersey's Governor.
This would explain why Damon didn't get into trouble where many other people would have for laying low for ten years and treating evidence related to a crime like a souvenir.....which to Damon it was.

In the program Luke states that he believes Ali was innocent and points out the closing argument made by De Lancey Nicoll, D.A. as having been pretty insensitive. He also mentions the press comments ( note: they weren't as prevalent as one might expect) which disparaged Ali for his Arab background.
What Luke didn't mention was the fact the lead defense attorney, House, in his closing argument, also made disparaging references to Ali's origins.
