      Sims' inspiration?

      There are more examples, the most obvious ones being the suggestion that Emma Smith was stabbed by a swordstick in April, 1888 and the stabbing of a policeman with a swordstick at a political rally in 1887.

      Swordsticks were in the news immediately prior to Tabram's murder.

          Chris,

          The top one looks like a firearm of some sort.

          I imagine there was a concealed version of pretty much every blade type. So the idea that Tabram could have been stabbed with a swordstick is perfectly valid.
