                            Wonderful Wensley

Thomson's Weekly News ran a series on 'Wonderful' Wensley. Did his nickname give rise to an early version of the old police joke? The chief constable walked into Scotland Yard and bumped into the on duty superintendent -

                            Superintendent, "Good morning Wonderful."

                            Wensley, "Morning Super."

                              Thanks for that SPE.

...and thanks to Celesta for mentioning the dedication in Mr. Wensley's book:

"To the Memory of my sons Frederick Martin Wensley and Harold William Wensley, who gave their lives in France."
