I thought this Atlas Obscura article by Gitit Ginat about Warren's archaeological work in Jerusalem was quite interesting. Though to put Jack the Ripper in the title and to claim that the connection with the Ripper case "continues to color how the site is excavated, interpreted, and fought over" seems just plain silly:

I also think that to make a link between what Warren did in the world of archaeology to what he did as Commissioner of the Met and the inability to nail the Ripper is just plain silly. If not though of a piece with the sweeping statements that people are apt to make in Ripperworld.
