  • 1848 large scale map of Romford.

There exists an 1848 large scale map of Romford known as the Gotto plan. I have just found out that digital copies of this map are available online.

In the search just put 'Gotto plan'

Nice to see the Giotto spacecraft taking pics of this mysterious place before it returns to the farthest corners of the solar system.

My late mum was in a nursing home that had been home to one of the two, Black or Decker. They were and are a Baltimore area firm.

Hardy was a Yank while Laurel was a Brit.

Great pity that the original is in such a poor condition. I was aware of the map but I didn't know there was two versions. I knew of the smaller scale map of the whole town but I was unaware that the larger scale series of maps existed.
