I found this while looking for a press report that I came across some time ago about an inquest on a horse at a knacker's yard where the 'horse coroner' (Caleb Hunt or his ilk) peeled (or had someone peel) the skin from the horse's head as part of the post-mortem examination.

Quite a delicate procedure, requiring some skill/experience, I would have thought.

I couldn't find the report, but thought the advert was worth sharing.

The Black Bull is still there.
    The King John isn't.

I've been in the Queen's Head in Fyfield but not the Black Bull.

This is the Black Bull, Fyfield, run by the Bretton family from 1862 to 1929, it seems. Charles Bretton's father, also Charles, was a butcher as well as a licensed victualler.
