          Your Attention Please

I revised the URL - that site has over 100 issues of The Strand Magazine available, not just #51.

Issue #18 contains the Holmes story The Adventure of the Copper Beeches. Issue #11 contains The Five Orange Pips. There are undoubtedly more.

I clicked on issue 50 and the first thing I saw was Victor L Whitechurch. This was Canon Victor Lorenzo Whitechurch. He is noted for his stories set on or around the railway.

I notice at least two other detective series by other authors in these magazines. Imagine trying to compete with Conan Doyle and Sherlock Holmes in those same pages - poor blighters.

#227 vol. 38 Nov. '09: "My Reminiscences" by Sir Robert Anderson

Nothing special, but a couple of nice illustrations.

I don't. It just happens to be the only copy of the magazine I own. I do think I have scans of the Anderson article though- I thought I posted them somewhere before, but maybe not. If you want I can dig them up and email them to you if you'd like (you know better how to shrink them down to post).

That would be decent, John...we probably do have 'em somewhere.
If I get a chance, I'll try locating that issue.
