Seems that people who were awake have confirmed it was a bright lightning flash (single) followed by the thunder. I expect the lightning was bright enough to have woken people, but brief enough for them not to know why, hence the thunderclap afterwards would have appeared to have come out of nowhere....Leave a comment:
