Could this be George Hutchinson ?
There is a chap "George Lane" in the Ancestry Calendar of Prisoners in 1885. He was arrested in Witham, Essex which is on the road that goes east from Chelmsford. His aliases include Elijah Hutchinson, and Bullar Hutson that I can find so far. His charges...

But just on quick observation: 2 CAVENDISH SQUARE W. Appears to be a note heading. Its certainly reversed on the other side.
This would suggest to me, that Crawford had his paper personally printed, rather than purchasing any old note...

Kosminskis release from Colney
I find it strange that Colney Hatch discharged Kozminski relieved yet he was sent to Leavesden. Do you think this means he was what was classed then as an imbecile? My Great Aunt died in Leavesden in 1916 and she was said to be "a bit simple"....
