Taken from Casebook's page about Emma:
"The lodging house deputy, Mary Russell and lodger Annie Lee, amazed that she could even have made it this far, rushed her to the London Hospital on Whitechapel Road, apparently against Emma's will."

Kate Eddowes - Balladeer?
Am I right in thinking that the only evidence that exists that línks Catherine Eddowes to gallows ballads is a newspaper article that says she and Thomas Conway used to sell them? And there is no evidence at all that she and/or Conway actually wrote them?

The Diary - Essential Books
Which books about the Diary do you fine people consider essential?
I only know what there is in the Michael Winner film and bits and bobs gleaned from the various Rippercast episodes where it's mentioned. After hearing the last four RC releases, I rather feel the need to read up on it...

I've only just watched this series all the way through for the first time and watched episode six last night.
Near the end of the last episode, Barlow talks about how he followed his own line of inquiry with the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions in regard to Abberline, and...

No, my point was about Mary Ann Nichols being tired and drunk, who happened to have that lived experience.
Also, I haven't said that Nichols would choose to sleep on the footpath gin Buck's Row. The most I've said that she may have chosen was to sit down for a rest when she needed...

Unless one has been a practically homeless, alcoholic inhabitant of one of the poorest and crime ridden districts of the age, where the only options are to get 2p for a hang on a line, 4p for a bed for the night, throw oneself on the mercy of the casual wards or workhouses or walk the streets until...
