Once I learn who besides Chapman had a certain organ removed before September 23 then maybe I'll take the business about a sect seriously. Perhaps I'm just a cranky old SOB, but I get bothered by the amount of time spent parsing elements of newspaper stories that are riddled with error. That is, if...

Nemo,
I would hardly consider -- then or now -- the Jesuits to be a "strange religious sect." In fact, the quote is "some one of the numerous queer religious sects known to exist in the East End" by which it should be clear the reporter had no certain sect in mind,...

Rather than Anderson I would have appreciated much more a photo of the 70-year-old beauty queen. Either she was a rare beauty or else the young women at the picnic were especially repellant.

John,
Thanks. But before any angry alums vent, it is Northeastern University. I am well aware of that because of my years in graduate school and the Boston Beanpot hockey tournament contested annually among Boston College, Boston University, Harvard College and Northeastern University....

The notion that Watkins was having a 'cuppa' with Morris while Jack was eviscerating Eddowes was first suggested to modern readers, of course, by Don Rumbelow.

Chris and the rest,
A few years back Jennifer Shelden and I collaborated on a series of articles for Ripperologist that surveyed Ripperologists. Each survey used a different selection methodology, but over the course of the three articles percentages of sexual identification remained very...

Christer,
Come on, Don - you don´t have to know Tom fairly well to realize that he´s a jester!
LOL, Very true indeed. I hope you are well and not only have time for your hobby but they are biting as often as mosquitoes on a summer's eve.

Christer,
LOL. Tom's joke may have been too "inside," but the Fair Play for Cuba Committee was Lee Harvey Oswald's group. Knowing Tom fairly well, it was assuredly a jest.
